Chester Winter Carnivale
Sunday, February 21st

Please join us on Sunday, February 21st, as Chester celebrates its 20th Annual Winter Carnivale from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Chester center rain, snow or shine. Free. There will be food by local restaurants and the Chester Rotary, and street performers in the town center. The ice carving competition will take place from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot behind 4 Water Street with judging shortly after. Spectators may vote for their favorite sculpture to win the "People's Choice Award." Special thanks to Jason Zelek of Connected Systems, LLC in Old Lyme for once again donating all the electrical work and generators and to Gregg Cook of Chester, LLC for use of the 4 Water Street parking lot. The "Chilly Chili Cook Off" will be held at the Chester Hose Company Fire House, 6 High Street, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to the Chester Hose Company. Contact 526-0841 for more information. Attendees can purchase tickets at the door for $5.00, which allows them to taste all the wonderful chili and vote for their favorite. And last but not least, festively decorated tractors will parade up and down Main Street beginning at 2:00 p.m. at North Quarter Park, in the highly anticipated Chester Tractor Parade. Saturday - February 20, 2010 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. St. Joseph Parish Center, (across the street from) 48 Middlesex Avenue, Chester, CT. The Samba Dance is the ultimate kick-off party for the Chester Winter Carnivale. Ticket price includes Brazilian savories and sweets, prepared by South American chefs, and two complimentary beverages. The evening also features a silent auction including art and craft items from Brazil, a professional photo station, prizes awarded for best costumes, masks and dancing, and a cash bar.
